    PHYSICS 31

For example, the absolute uncertainty for taking time can range from 0.1 to 0.6s. We choose an uncertainty of 0.2s. Since we did two repeats, the uncertainty is lesser so therefore we divide 0.2s by 2 = 0.1 0.1/final reading of two x 100 = percentage uncertainty. Hope I helped :)

Thank you. 10 oscillations it is. And for your time doubt, time should be taken in 2 dp.

    PHYSICS 31

I already have it.. but it shows two columns and talks about the s.f we can use. In an oscillation experiment, we have to take repeats so I was wondering if we have a column for the repeats. For example, we take 20T and get the actually T (like it says on the file) , do we add another...

    If it is easier, higher grade boundary. And how do we do the table? E.g L/cm | 10T1/s| T1/s | 10T2/s | T2/s | T /s | T^2/s^2| Can I do that?

1.) Two sets of readings is not enough to draw a conclusion, Take 6 sets of readings or more, plot a graph to best line fit. 2.) The oscillations changes too fast, Use a video and play back. Those are the two common. The others will have to do with the experiment itself.

    0.05m x 235 x (1340 - 300) + 0.05m x 10500 I'll explain this better. Why is it ((1340 - 300) you may ask? Because of the change in temperature. You convert 27 C into Kelvins therefore, (27 + 273 = 300) What does this equation mean, it looks soooo foreign to me. 0.05m x 10500 This...

b.) SHC eqn is C= Q/mT the mass of gold is 0.95 of the mass because the other 5 percent of it contains silver Heat lost by the liquid gold is 0.95m x 129 x T (this is basically rearranging the above eqn to get Q which is energy) Heat gained by the silver is 0.05m x 235 x (1340 -...

AL ALRIGHT!!! I GOT THIS! (but not everything though) 2ai x x tick tick x - because molecules are not moving therefore P.E is zero. x - because K.E energy is increasing and P.E is decreasing tick- because molecules are moving which means PE has increased / gained energy tick -...

---> Physics Paper 4 Past Paper Discussion <---

Can someone please help me with Paper 4? I am self taught and finding some concepts hard to grasp. Even those that seem very very easy. For example, when we have an altitude, how do we incorporate it in the -GM/R equation to find the potential energy.
