    Mechanics 1 P42 2014; Discussion!

Oishee Asif In the other thread you told me I was right, so you're saying that 15.5 and 15.6 are the two right answers for Q6? (part 1 and 2 respectively)

    Mechanics 1 P42 2014; Discussion!

For Q3, what if you resolved the 10N force and weight (FIRST) and used that resultant with a triangle of forces to equate the tensions? Also, for the answer you guys got, how can the tension be so small in one wire and so large in another?

    9709 MATHEMATICS P42 2014 GT

Could you explain to me how you got the second tension in Part 2 of Q6? I got the same deceleration, however I remember my answer being 15.6N. Help?

    9709 MATHEMATICS P42 2014 GT

To be honest, I didn't understand Question 2, and I was confused about Question 3 because of the orientation of the forces.

How did your Biology Paper 12 go?

Yup, I put the same for the nicotine question. I chose B for the B/T Lymphocyte question. At the end of the statement (of B) it said that they produce antibodies. They, in this case, means both types of lymphocytes and that's incorrect, so it must be B.

How did your Biology Paper 12 go?

I chose D for the bohr effect one too. And it starts off with chemical receptor? I thought it was antigen. Proteins contains gylcoproteins/glycolipids which are chemical receptors, but antigens are just connected to the membrane, no?

Which one was the plasma membrane one? Think I forgot :/

How did your Biology Paper 12 go?

Sorry, why is sucrose actively transported? I thought it always diffused from the companion cell to the sieve tube elements. And I put the same for Q6, ribosomes and ER must come first and second, respectively. It doesn't make any sense otherwise.

How did your Biology Paper 12 go?

    Which one was that?

How did your Biology Paper 12 go?

Yup, that's the only one that made sense. Think of some harder ones!!

How did your Biology Paper 12 go?

What did you put for Q5? Where you had to list ER, ribosomes, golgi apparatus and cell membrane in order?

How did your Biology Paper 12 go?

Most probably. How would an enzyme form after transcription? Condensation is the process of an enzyme being coiled up into its specific shape, that can only occur once the polypeptide chain is formed! Which is after transcription.

How did your Biology Paper 12 go?

I remembered this in the exam too, however look look at the word 'useful'. Wouldn't that mean that it a clear image would be formed?

How did your Biology Paper 12 go?

    I did too.

How did your Biology Paper 12 go?

I chose A for the tar one too, for some reason B and C weren't "appealing" to me lol. I vaguely remember but the options included some form of a flow diagram. A was that tar attacks some DNA molecule and mutation occurs. B and C were about mucus glands and secreting more mucus and D was...

How did your Biology Paper 12 go?

I don't understand how it can be x400 either. Q2 was a diagram of an image at x400 magnification (with an LM) and everything was clearly visible. Unless Cambridge openly contradicts itself, that can't be the answer.

How did your Biology Paper 12 go?

Same here! My thoughts exactly, cellulose being insoluble is irrelevant.
  18. Omar Haider

How did your Biology Paper 12 go?

Yeah, i did the same. I only picked one for cellulose, not all 3 or anything to do with the insolubility of cellulose. And A sounds right, at lower magnifications there is lower resolution. For example, if you were to zoom out on this very page, you wouldn't be able to make out many words, right?

How did your Biology Paper 12 go?

Possibly, but I just thought it was too obvious a choice. I asked some others at my centre and quite a few put A as the answer. What do you guys think?

How did your Biology Paper 12 go?

Did anyone put A for the first question?
