wHAT ARE THE WAYS of reducing sample and random error???

yeah C is the shorted one lol thanks princess :)

Stats1 made easier! Just have a look at this!

simple permutations and combinations are fine if u practice them a little, i find the "box approach" very useful. i can solve any question on that. but what i don't get, at all, is permutations and combinations with repetition. the syllabus clearly states u don't need to know them, my teacher...

CIE papers, where are they checked??

i'm not sure, but i think it's said that papers from pakistan are checked in pakistan, then the top papers are sent to cie for further cheking before the distinctions etc are announced... personally i think they're checked in a similar way to the SAT essays... i.e. the papers are scanned and...

wHAT ARE THE WAYS of reducing sample and random error???

since the three lamps are similar, all three have resistance=15Ω. thus when both switches S2 and S3 are closed, the effective resistance should be 22.5Ω. however, the actual resistance is lesser so that means the current has found another path of less resistance, i.e. the lamp is shorted. hope...

    A* in math

oh no you don't suck at stats :P go through the forum, most questions people ask about stats are answered by you :) so chill, ur A* is like a 100% guarantee inshallah

wHAT ARE THE WAYS of reducing sample and random error???

    a) micrometer screw gauge b) i) close the micrometer fully, check that the reading on it's scale should be zero. (meaning check there's no zero error, which is an example of a systematic error) ii) take at least three readings and obtain a mean values from them to use in further calculations.

    stats question...plz help

cuz there are 16 terms and you are subtracting 50 from each of them, which is effectively equal to subtracting (16 x 50) from the total :) yes, that is the correct formula, but there are many ways to rearrange it. the form used in this question was (Σ(x)^2)/n - (mean)^2, and we substituted Σx/n...

    stats question...plz help

    @ Samy: to find Σ(x − 50): We know Σ(x)=824. and the total number of students is 16. So Σ(x − 50)= Σ(x) - (16 x 50) = 824 - 800 = 24. to find Σ(x − 50)^2: we know the formula for variance, so substitute the values in it. So you get (Σ(x − 50)^2)/16 - (Σ(x − 50) / 16)^2 = (6.5)^2 using simple...

IF anyone arrives late for paper at the centre..

there's a "key time" within which you have to arrive... the details are on the venue notice. and reporting time is 8:00 so you weren't half an hour late, you were one and a half hour late...

    Anybody else do Math P32???

hey there was more than enough time! i finished like half an hour early and then tried to figure out the vectors question, couldn't. then as soon as they called out stop writing, it crashed on me. i had the paper in front of me, and i couldn't write the answer. kill me! the paper was relatively...

    The Ultimate AS Physics Thread

i think you mean between two points in a wave... if the points are both crests, or both troughs, i.e. the distance between them is equal to one wavelength, they are said to be "in phase". the phase difference is 2pi. if the distance is half a wavelength, the phase difference is pi. i.e. the...

    maths p3 guesses

i don't think anybody can be really sure about P3, but i think the main stuff like vectors, differential equations, complex number, iterations, calculus in general, and trig are worth revising. in trig i think just go over the formulae and all... even though they are given in MF9, but be on the...
