Hello everybody. I'm currently learning Chapter 12 in the book written by Fosbery(the recommended Cambridge book), and I find it hard to understand.
The book says, as in the last sentence of page 199, that travellers from areas free of cholera to those where cholera is endemic used to be advised to be vaccinated but this recommendation has now been dropped.
So... why is this recommendation dropped and if travellers were not vaccinated, what should they do to prevent cholera?

Well in your sentences you missed one important line which may clear your doubt that is ALTHOUGH THE VACCINE ONLY PROVIDE SHORT TERM PROTECTION so recommendation has now been dropped.
If travellers are not vaccinated than they should drinking clean water which is chlorinated to kill bacteria.

Any doubt now?
