please help me in this question

1. Respirometers are designed to measure respiration rate. They do this by recording the
volume of oxygen taken up by the respiring tissue. In most cases, when a tissue is
undergoing aerobic respiration, the volume of oxygen taken up by the tissue is equal to
the volume of carbon dioxide given off. This poses a problem because there is no overall
volume change.

(a) Explain how a respirometer you have used is designed to overcome this problem and
describe how it could be used to measure the volume of oxygen taken up by respiring
tissue in a human.
