Betty M Rafter has been writing poems, songs, ditties, and skits since she was a young girl, but, other than a published poem about 9/11, she never attempted to publish any of her work until this, her family's, sometimes sad but inspirational, story.
Wanting to share another place and time during the Great Depression, that younger generations of those in her Meeks Clan and others would never read in a history book, she has written her book with much love for them, and gratitude for life as it is today.
Betty was inspired to tell her family's story to honor her parents and siblings-especially her oldest sister, Dink, to whom she dedicated her book
