Description:
Since 1986, Emperor Specialty Foods Ltd has been pioneering gourmet food importing and distribution, beginning with fresh shiitake mushrooms. In 1995, they began sourcing mushrooms from China and local farms. By 1998, they were the first in Canada to routinely import fresh mushrooms from China via ocean freight. In 2001, they opened a China office to bolster supplier relationships and broaden their product range to include imported fruits and vegetables—yet organic shiitake from Vancouver remains a flagship.
