Okay so i wanted to ask is it obligatory for women to hide their faces too?? Because i have always been taught by my parents that if we cover our head only (the way we do in prayers) that is Hijab... But then a friemd said that it's obligatory to cover the face too!!
And then i searched it on the internet, there was a diferent answer everywhere!!

i m sorry was with family so a bit busy at that tym so i didnt reply.. sorry for that...
ok, 1st thing is everything that we want to know abt Islam should be directed to Quran and Sunnah, ryt so whatever islamic knowledge u take should be traced back to Quran n Hadis n not any TV show or what ppl say...

see there two opinions abt it being Fardh or not being Fardh but highly recommended... both sides have their valid reasons to say so, n we respect their opinion, however the view that i prefer n believe is the one which says it is obligatory... y so? [next comment]

– It was narrated from Safiyyah bint Shaybah that ‘Aa’ishah (may Allaah be pleased with her) used to say: When these words were revealed – “and to draw their veils all over Juyoobihinna (i.e. their bodies, faces, necks and bosoms)” – they took their izaars (a kind of garment) and tore them from the edges and covered their faces with them.
Narrated by al-Bukhaari, 4481

– It was narrated that Asma’ bint Abi Bakr said: We used to cover our faces in front of men.
Narrated by Ibn Khuzaymah, 4/203; al-Haakim, 1/624. He classed it as saheeh and al-Dhahabi agreed with him. It was also classed as saheeh by al-Albaani in Jilbaab al-Mar’ah al-Muslimah.

When Ibn ‘Abbaas (RA) was asked about the aayah:
“O Prophet! Tell your wives and your daughters and the women of the believers to draw their cloaks (veils) all over their bodies” [al-Ahzaab 33:59] –
he covered his face, leaving only one eye showing. This indicates that what was meant by the ayah was covering the face.
