Using an equation can be very confusing, ppl tend to try to put in the information in the question, into the equation even if tht is not applicable, so my advise wud be to disregard the equation, and try understanding the scenario given in the question. If u have ur basic right, u shud get to the ans.
the equation u gave, is not entirely correct as questions, often require u to take into account various other factors
