asma and Nayya there is nothing like Shab e Barat in islam.... There is no mention of it in quran.........there is only ONE hadis that talks about it, and that is a zaeef hadis, meaning not completely authentic.... furthermore, Allah comes does on the first heavens every night in the 3/4th part of the night, not just on this particular day..
