Well, basically, it does not make a great difference on your future admissions (A* is obviously better but does not make such a big impact).
The thing is; when you get an A*, you can easily say that you got the BEST you could. An A shows that there is some space for improvement.

So 8 A*'s is perfection and shows that the student is brilliantly excellent!

Yeah. But, in my opinion, if a students gets 8 A's in one sitting, he's brilliant.

It does. But I can't do anything about it. I take pride in that C, it changed me completely. I'm happy that I got the grades in the subjects that really matter.

I took CIEs like any other exam, didn't study.
It changed me in many ways, just forget it.

I took it even lighter than my Mid-Terms. I honestly, studied more in Mid-terms as far as i remember.
So, too bad i didn't get a bad grade. I'll stay this way forever now, till the point I am brought down too.
