It is not and if they do tht then I think they dont have a life and counting the number of alerts u get is nothing to be proud of, I mean seriously counting the number of alerts, followers and likes u get!! I think the only thing tht should matter is the number of people who loves u and number of friends u have! Fame is not gonna lead anyone anywhere

btw ERA ... umm... Nobody COUNTS their Alerts, they are ALREADY shown to them! When you log in u see Alerts above that a number... that's how people know!

And yes it's true, that what's the use of knowing how many alerts u have! IT just means ure FAMOUS! maybe a good thing maybe not!
