it symbolizes the point after which the business will start making profit and if it falls behind it it will go into loss

basically a break even chart is a graph which shows how cost and revenue of a business change with sales... they notify the level of sales a business needs to achieve to meet it's COS

cost of sales or cost of production: the amount of capital invested in producing a product for example raw material, carriage inwards or wages of the production staff
