ahaa no u are wrong.... idioms and expressions can be used...but in a linmited way...dey can attract ur examiner if used once or twice

Basically, it depends on which type of directed writing has been provided to you. Every task has its own register and specific vocabulary. Use can use idiomatic expression, but that must not go against the register

yea occasional idioms will definitely leave a nice impression on the examiner however substantial amount of them wud not luk good and the same thing will happen as an idiom is "too much spices spoil the broth"
