Is it necessary to agree with the statement of the question? Like the question is

"14 points were the most important factor in the development of pak movement during the period 1928 and 1935?" Do you agree? Give reasons for your answer.

How this question should be approached? Are we required to discuss the following:
Nehru Report
14 Points
Allahabad Address
Three RTCs
Communal Award
Govt of India Act 1935

What should be the conclusion? Can anyone brief please. Thanks

well yes u should discuss all major events that took place between 1928 and 1935 and conclusion well if its a challenging statement like in ayub era there is alot of confusion whether his agricultural reforms were better or industrial so there u should agree with the statement given in question...but if the statement given is totally wrong like if the question says economic problems were the most important problem faced by the pakistan at time of independence...here we know that its totally wrong so here u can go against the statement given in question.....hope this helps :)

Dude if you see the marking scheme it says that :

(c) Was a lack of unity amongst the Indians the main reason for the failure of the War of
Independence 1857–1858? Explain your answer. [14]

LEVEL 1: Simplistic statement. (1–2)
The British were better OR describes the war and/or causes.

LEVEL 2: Description/identification of reasons (3–6)
The opposition to the British was too weak.

LEVEL 3: Explains one reason (7–10)

LEVEL 4: Explains more than one reason including a lack of unity (9–13)
There was a lack of unity and common cause amongst the Indian population. The Punjab
was uninterested in helping the rebellion and actually sent men and supplies to help the
British. This also happened in Kashmir. The British had more modern methods of fighting
and the army was better disciplined as well as being supplied by some of the local rulers.

LEVEL 5: As Level 4 – also produces a judgement or evaluation. (14)

What level 5 means is that you have to give the statement that you agree or disagree withe statement.

Like in this case you have to tell that indeed LACK OF UNITY was one of the reasons for the failure of the war of independence.

If you do not write this then you would not be able to get all 14 marks even if your answer is all correct.. :(
