beacon_of_light said:Lets relate it to microscopes...
Resolution is the shortest distance b/w two points at which they can be clearly distinguished or the resolution of a microscope is the ability to clearly determine two separate points at the shortest possible distance.
Resolution is concerned with the wavelength of electrons. Electron beams have shorter wavelengths than light beams so can interact with small-sized bodies like ribosomes and therefore, they are visible under an electron microscope.
If you view two specimens ,one under LM and the other under EM, you'll see more detail (or in depth study of an orgenelle) under EM at the same magnification. Thats brought about by higher resolution of an electron microscope.
in easier words, resolution is the ability to distinguish b/w two objects CLEARLY!!!
Hope that helps you![]()
