What do u need to revise for Alternative to Practical to be that excellent???

1.basics knowledge of all the chapters
2.diagrams labling + calculations of magnifications
3.food test (very.important)

revise all the experiments and undeerstand them very well .
have knowledge of all chapters
be able to write your own experiment along with what variables need to be fixed and how to do that
and yes food tests are so important

and one very gud tip...suppose an experiment comes and u have no idea abt it...using a little bit of common sense write something for the experimen however along with it write safety precautions or other measures to be taken provided it suits the question and arent asked in the other parts!

U should be confident and try to memorize classification topic its important revise mammals

They Love to ask 'food tests' in paper 6 , so study it hard
Also make sure you know how to draw graphs 'perfectly'
Make sure that you know all you practicals to test the 'requirements' for photosynthesis
You should also know how to set up an experiment to test the rate of photosynthesis via the transpiration method with the patometer , as it always seems to appear in the paper

These are 'standard answers' which will always be marked correct for a question which asks you to describe method to obtain valid results (always appears in paper 6 for about +/- 4 or 5 marks)
-Repeat to obtain average
-Draw graph with results
-Ensure that certain variables remain constant ( eg, temperature and pH)
-Use safety procedures such as wearing gloves/goggles

Hope this helps , go over tha past papers of paper 6! , the style of answering the questions always seem to be the same!

What about the labels of the drawings? could anyone suggest some place to get familiar with the labeling of different drawing that come, sometime its a fish, sometimes a vegetable or fruit, sometimes a flower and so on... and also in questions like preparing an experiment, if its 6 marks then how many points should mention at least? and is there some kind of negative marking?

Now to keep it simple, it's almost impossible to predict the chapters from which it will appear, as you can theoretically conduct experiments on almost every topic available in the syllabus. However, to save time, if you're doing the extended syllabus, there's no need to study all of it. Check the syllabus with the topics list and ONLY cover those that fall under 'Core' as Paper 6 is done both by candidates doing core and extended.

You also need to cover experiment-intensive sections as those have a higher tendency to appear, such as potometers, food tests, rate of heart beat, respiratory systems, photosynthesis in general and topics of the sort.

It's also HIGHLY recommended that you practice a lot of past papers and check the relevant answers in the mark schemes. That is because, albeit the topics are continuously changing , the style of questioning can be fairly repetitive and certain questions such as identifying the mistakes done in a particular experiment appear quite often.
