1b) You simply have to restate what you see in the passage. I would have said that it provides the largest source of income from Kenya, and state the value of what it earns them. I would also state the it would be recorded in invisible export section of the current account as it is a service, and it also brings money into the country. Finally, I would just say that this would have been beneficial for the balance of payments, and could have put them in a current account surplus, depending on their exports. For after 2008, you need to analyse the negative multiplier effect the decrease in tourism will have, ie, it will result in higher unemployment, which will lead to lower incomes and slower economics growth, however, it is impossible to tell whether the trend will continue in the years which follow.

1d) Well, a "success story" simply implies that it was very high, in relation to not only previous years, but other countries too. It is also a success story as it provided the population with great benefits, ie, improved incomes and better standards of living. It is best to state the increase which was made. A fall in the number of holiday members will reduce the number of people employed in the tourism sector, due to the decrease in the demand. This could lead to a negative multiplier effect which results in an economic downturn, as people who are also indirectly employed by tourism will be effected. However, it can be argued that tourism is only a seasonal industry anyway, so the economic downturn may not be of enormous proportions.

I hope I helped, really nervous about today myself :/
