If you want a good chance at doing medicine, take Maths, Physics, Chemistry and Biology at AS (then one 'easier' subject, such as Thinking Skills). For A2, drop the 'easier' subject but continue with all the other 4 for A2.

There is absolutely no point in taking AS classes now. Enjoy your holiday.

Medicine is extremely competitive; so you need to get A's in all of your subjects. At A2, you should be looking to get 3/4 A*'s. Also, Chemistry is usually more important than Biology (surprisingly). Make sure you're brilliant at Chemistry.

NB. If you want to get into a top University for medicine (eg Oxford) you need a LOT of work experience which shows you have bedside manner. For example, go work with the elderly in retirement homes, work with the disabled, work at a hospital etc.

Yeah, it'll probably be harder than most subjects, but Medicine's hard. You need to do hard subjects to get in.

Maths and Physics have overlap (if you do Mechanics for Maths), which should help you out.
