innah was the top most leader n president of the ML. He gave his 14 points in response to the Nehru REport which disregarded the rights of the minorities. In these points federal form of gov n provincial autonomy was proposed. they included several points for the safeguard of muslim rights. main purpose was to achieve political rights for minorities. it became clear that not the congress nor the british were interested in giving proper rights to the muslims.
Jinnah remained the president of ML after 1934. After the 1936 elections he organized the ML form ground root level.main events during the political period of 1929-1947 was passing of the lahore resolution, gandhi innah talks, simla confeerence, cabinet mission and the 3rd june plan.
Among all these the passing of the lahore resolution was the most imp in whcih the demand for a separte homeland for muslims was made. this demand became the sheet anchor of all future negotiations all in which Jinnah played an effective role. the LR presented the partition of india as the only solutions to the probs in india.
In the Gandhi Jinnah talks Gandi maintained that all indians from one nation. he further added that first of all hindus and muslims should achieve independence and that partition will be decided later. Jinnah reiterated that muslims were a separate nation and that partiton should be decided before the british left india. the talks failed but it increased Jinnahs imporatnce as a leader.
In 1945 Lord Wavell called a conference at Simla. he tried to reconstitute the viceroys executive council which indian members selecting members from diff communities. the conferences failed on the distribution of seats esp jinnahs frim standing against muslim seats. the outstanding success of muslims in the 1946 elections confirmed that jinnahs stand was correct.
Lastly negotiations made with the cabinet mission in 1946 were an achievement of jinnah. he made it cleat that the ML would not except any solution to the Hindu-Muslim prob except partition.
We come to the conclusion that jinnahs greatest achievement between 1929 and 1947 was the passing of the LR because it became the basis of all the future negotiations. jinnah was finally successful in achieving an independant country for the Muslims.
