How do the examiners check our paper?

Hi guys, I just sat for my English Language exam and I was wondering, do the examiners check our papers by hand (actual papers) or through the scanned copies? And does a paper go through multiple examiners? Ive always wanted to know how cie examiners work.

Pretty much, the exam booklets are scanned and sent to the examiners for marking. I don't think they manually mark papers these days.

They keep the original copies in the archive departments after scanning and sending them to the examination correctors.
