for those of you who are looking for islamiyat tips, let me share my strategy.

1.. everyone is sufficiently prepared but to score an A, u need to UNDERSTAND the QUESTION, u need to clearly know what the examiner wants,

2. people say that u need to write more in islamiyat than any other paper. thats true but U MUST NOT WRITE IRRELEVANT DETAILS, this puts off the examiner,

TIP: read the question twice, and after every paragraph of writing your answer, read the question again!

3. the examiner has magical eyes !!! he can FEEL the ratta! you need to understand each and every thing, if you add some personal opinions too where relevant (part B of questions), ull gain extra credit. Especially in islamiyat, the examiner is pleased to see that the candidate has insight, vision and is a modern muslim who can present his ideas in a logical way.

4. for surahs part B, write what YOU understand, NOT what is written in the surah or else you won't get marks.

5. finally, listen to your heart in islamiat exam, let your imagination and reasoning express yourself in your words instead of being limited by what you have read.

Hope u get A* !!

It's nice of you to share your strategies, but I think you don't really have to write/add personal opinions, atleast in the [10] mark questions. This is because, I myself have given Islamiat and got an A*, I wouldn't reccomend anyone to do this, I COMPLETELY "rato-o-fied" the marking keys :p and just stuffed in all the points in my answer.
But once again DO NOT try this, as it is a big risk.

Secondly, personal views, or giving your own insight is only good to the point where you do not stray from carrying your point and you tend to make your whole answer irrelevant, so don't you think if you do not have the practise of adding a personal insight, then it's better not to?

I do not mean to criticise you, and it's really helpful of you to post your strategies for others; I am just sharing my own thoughts.

yeah thats fine, Surahs troubled me the most. well, u can "ratta-fy" part A questions, but make sure that u don't mingle A parts with B parts. B parts test your understanding and vision! not learning!

I guess they ask u what is the importance of the way the surah portrays the main theme or what ways it uses to try to tell the main theme.

in part "B" of questions, they ask u the significance of an event or an idea , or how can YOU carry apply the teaching in your lifestyle.

like if they ask you the importance of mosques for muslims, "today muslim communities always make a mosque wherever they are living, even if they are in minority" will gain you extra credit
