i know this that molecular ion forms when an electron is knocked off from the whole molecule due to collision with high energy electrons.bt in a mass spectrograph there are peaks at other masses also so i wanna know that there's some kind of fragmentation of molecule involved.......explain clearly plx,,,,,,,

When an electron is removed from a molecule, the molecule becomes unstable- so it undergoes fragmentation to give a molecular fragment ion and a radical. Thus, along with the molecular ion, fragments are also detected on the mass spectrum (the radicals are removed by the vacuum pump).

Hope that helps...
