these are easy
for Question 1
-Bengal was partitioned as it seemed sensibly to divide the province which had population of 85 million to religious grounds.
-Lord curzon wanted to Develop the backward areas of Bengal.
-British also wanted to break the strength of Congress and Hindu protest in that areas
-Lord Curzon wanted to develop friendly relations with the Muslims and wanted to win them over by giving them a majority province.

For Second Question
-Success of Simla Deputation showed that Muslims could communicate with the British with one voice.
-Congress was a Hindu Dominated body which only worked for the rights of Hindus. Most of the muslim realized that.
-Muslims could not depend on Congress for protection of their rights and thought that formation of Muslim political body was necessary.

For Question 1:
1 point. The backward areas were being exploited by Hindu monopolists. With the partition, the British wished to break their yoke, and thus contribute to Muslim prosperity in East Bengal.

For Question 2:
You missed out a very important point i.e. The Hindu reaction to the Partition of Bengal. It was hostile, and Muslims feared the worst. They believed if due to such a reaction, if British were forced to leave India (highly improbably, but still worth fearing), the Muslims would become a pathetic minority, and fall prey to Hindu Dominated India.
