the question number please...
and I know it's feels disappointing when you have to use the mark scheme to do the stuffs, even I did, but the important thing is to learn how they did it so that you're prepared if something like this or close to this comes in your exam

In question 13 I dont get why sometimes you multiply with 60, then subtract it and then divide by it!! :(

In question 13 I dont get why sometimes you multiply with 60, then subtract it and then divide by it!! :(
I'll try to clarify...
first you calculate the total time in seconds and then converted it into minute... there are two minute columns.. so to convert them into seconds, multiply by 60... =INT((($E3+$G3)*60 +$F3+$H3)/60).... now the whole thing is in sec, but as you need minute, divide it to by 60
lets do the whole thing using numbers... say total time is 72sec or 1 min 12sec which can be also written as 1.20min... the multiplication and division allows me to calculate 1.20min and the INT (integer) function brings out just the min. .i.e 1

now for the second column...
=(($E3+$G3)*60+$F3+$H3)-60*INT((($E3+$G3)*60 +$F3+$H3)/60) << this is the formula
let's use number to do this as well... say you have 140sec... you know that means 2min 20sec... the 20sec can be derived like this:
140sec-120sec=20sec
or, 140sec - 60*2min=20sec ..... now compare the formula and this step and you should understand the reason for this cumbersome formula

you know what, I say that you leave this method and follow what kernel95 has shown here: http://www.xtremepapers.com/community/threads/computers-ict-post-your-doubts-here.10038/page-4
his one is really simple
