wht do we have to rote learn in sociology...except definitions ?or how to prepare for it?

I guess u dunt evn rote learn the definations..!! I never did..!! But the thing is UNDERSTAND whatever u read...!! All those theories etc that are, for instance, in the power and authority chapter..!! And i guess the more u read them with full understanding, they'll automatically cling to ur mind so wont need to actually go for ratta-fication...!! If u have less time, i.e givin the ppr this nov and still havent started wid the subject, make a choice among which topics to prepare. The first ppr allows u one topic to be left out, so u can leave either of chp 2, 3 or 4 but on the condition u do the other 2 extremely well cuz then u leave no choice with u. Similarly, in ppr2, u can choose two chps that u r most interested in and that u can easily manage. For Methodology, i guess u shud prepare ur own notes...Writing the purpose, reason and pros and cons ov each research method...It'll be easy to revise once u've made it...!! Make notes of the theories as well...write them in bullet points and memorise those Bullets...This will be far more easier than cramming..!! If u need help with anything particular, put it in this thread, v'd solve it for u..!

thnks dear....do u hav some notes n yeh wht if i stdy 1 hr daily..hw much time will be needed to complte 4 chptrs?wht was ur grade?

I got an A* and believe me i never went for hours..!! I just took a weekend and said to myself...FINISH THIS CHAPTER..!! And then i worked on completing that chapter...Sumtimez i cudnt do the whole but i tried to stay away from DISTRACTIONS as much as possible and evn wen i ws tired, i went for a walk or did sum light exercise or just had a nap..!! Sumtimes i did it in bits...Like takin my syllabus and deciding to complete first five bullet points..!! I used Ken Browne's book An introduction to Sociology..Plus for definations, there was a Complete A-Z handbook(mentioned in the resource list..I forgot the writer's name)...!! This ws damn enuf...I had sufficient material to write in ppr..!! If u dedicate ur whole time to studies...that is promise urself to stay focused...i guess 3 months are more than enuf..!!
