How to know if you’re being bullied?

Bullying can be as simple as being mocked at and as worse as severe physical abuse. If you’re experiencing any behavioral actions towards yourself that make you uncomfortable, it might be a red flag.

What to do if you’re a victim:

  • If the form of bullying is just verbal or gestural, then stand up against the bully and tell the person that you find it uncomfortable and intolerable and therefore, he/she/they should stop. Also notify a trustworthy person about everything.

  • If they still do not stop immediately rush for help from teachers, parents, security etc.

  • If you’re stranded in a very unpleasant situation such as beating, torture then find a way to call a helpline and notify them. Rush to a safer place surrounded with people.

  • If you’re being bullied, always try to keep the people around you aware of it. In case of blackmailing by the bully, gather up the courage to tell the people around you.

  • Anti-bullying laws and policies do exist. Therefore, do not be scared. You can also report online if this option is available in your country. You can also report to the police. Although it might sound unpleasant but it doesn’t necessarily have to be you who should place the report. By doing so, you can save many others from becoming the victim and this can also give the bully a chance to get back to a normal life.
