english formal letter... confusion :O

Its nearly the same..after the subject we were told to leave 2 lines then write the date..then after a line the report..then without leaving a line your name and signature

my teacher said that the addresses include punctuation marks like comma and full stop. and many people are saying that we don't include them.. what is it exactly????
and do we write our name and designation in end in a report??

Your teachers is correct... Punctuation ,commas,fullstops etc are necessary as you are written it some Decent(formal) organization or institute not a friends ( Informal).Lastly Name and signature should also be there

In a letter a traditional format address includes punctuations but as we follow the LEFT BLOCK FORMAT so we are not required to use any punctuations

in Directed writing tasks , thea's always a letter included (mostly ).....so do we have to write the whole format...

Directed writing is mostly letter
In formal Sender and reciever address and subject and date shud be included before starting the letter and sign and name at the end
In unformal Only address of ur own and date in start and name in last
Check these they are a lot of help
