no, if its already in excess, more volume will not make a difference
i know that volume of gas produced won't change but the rate of reaction increases?
what about when the volume is doubled, what happened to the temperature change?

no the rate still doesn't change but the temp doesn't rise as much as there's more mass to heat

When conc of excess acid is doubled, more particles available per unit volume so more successful collisions resulting in a steeper gradient but same volume of gas produced..

Guys, if the volume of solvent in a reaction is doubled, what will happen to the speed of the reaction? Thanks
It means that the solution becomes more dilute. (less concentrated). So rate of reaction decreases.
Rate of reaction is affected by:
*- Temperature
*- Concentration
*- Surface Areea
And presence of a catalyst may affect it.

or there is a difference between volume and conc of an acid?
The concentration and volume could vary.
For example, there could be volume X of an acid but the same concentration (for each mole).
You have to check if the concentration is changed, then the rate of reaction changes too.

Take a conical flask and pour in some amount of fizzy drink. Add a bung to the mouth of the flask and heat the flask with a Bunsen burner. Then connect a gas syringe on the bung of the conical flask. The volume of gas will be collected in the syringe. Note down the intervals of volumes... <-- that's waht ei wrote :D

no need to heat, just keep it there for a while it will automatically diffuse out of the drink.

record the volumes

remember, they said one bottle!
no common lab apparatus can hold that much!moreover, it would take a along time to get all that gas out
so you take a little, and wait for all of it to escape (by waiting to see when the plunger doesn't move)

then do a little ratio to find out how much one bottle will have.

thats what i wrote. even if thats wrong it doesn't matter cause all the apparatuses and idealogy behind the experiment is okay.
