Conduction is the transfer of heat or electrical energy by the vibration of particles in solid substance. The medium (solid) does not change its position. _____

Explanation - When you heat up a solid or pass electric current through it, the particles in the solid gain more kinetic energy and the vibrate and move around faster, colliding more frequently with other particles and transfer energy around the solid.
