In question 5b, why is mass of beta multiplied by 2? (Isn't mass of beta =mass of electron)
Ms:

How did you do it, bro? I also did it my way, where i wouldn't have multiplied mass of beta with 2. Answer comes different if i don't. :/Relax dude, just do it the normal way. I did it the normal way using the formula and got the right answer. So, just do it using the formula.
Ive replied to your question. Hope you get it.can you please in return explain to me absorption and emission line spectra? How did you do it, bro? I also did it my way, where i wouldn't have multiplied mass of beta with 2. Answer comes different if i don't. :/

That two in the alpha? It came from the two electrons present in the alpha particles which contribute to the charge.Where did that 2 come from? Is it B? Where is it given?
Ohhh! Now i get it! Thanks a lot, broThat two in the alpha? It came from the two electrons present in the alpha particles which contribute to the charge.

No, its the 2 charge of protons.Do alpha particles have electrons ?? Or is it just this question!
glad i could be of help.Ohhh! Now i get it! Thanks a lot, bro![]()
How will i explain it when they ask us about discrete energy levels? I know that photons with certain energies are emitted and the energy difference corresponds to the energy of a particular photon but how will i explain it all? I dont know how to phrase my answerAs white light passes through low pressure gas, some electrons absorb energy and jump to higher energy levels. When they de-excite , photons are emitted in all direction, rather than the original path of white light, so some wavelengths of light are missed. So the missing wavelengths from the absorption spectrum are the ones present in the emission spectrum.
Alpha particles have electrons buddy. Remember alpha particles have a nuclen no of 4 and 2 protons?
