actually the bond energy of both C≡C and O=O make this reaction energetically infeasible. C≡C will react with any other oxidising agent very easily because it is a very strong reducing agent.

2Mg +O2-->MgO one mole required 1/2 moles of O2
P4+ 3O2-->P4O6
4Na + O2 --> 2Na2O one mole required 1/4 moles of O2
