Assalamualaikum,
I've started my A' Levels Mathematics. The coursebook I chose after a lot of investigation was Core Maths for A'Level. I understand it pretty well and everything seems okay. However, i've just completed my first chapter yet in almost half a month, although my writing and calculating speed is pretty fast. I just wanted to know how all the other students manage it who even go to college school etc? especially if u wish to do the whole exercise for practice and not just randomly!

It's different for everyone. Mostly depends on ones aptitude for maths.

I have even just started A level maths, i am in 4th chapter (differentiating exp x and log x), my advice is to read the examples and understand how the methods work, then try some past papers. you have to at least do some papers too because time is getting close, its 2nd week of march already.

thanks for the advice...I've just reached 3rd chapter as well..Actually, the first one was really too long, it had 19 exercises. Btw, which book do you use? I am using Core Maths for A level by Bostock and Chandler.

my sister started it too, however she didn't find it's approach quite understandable, and she would get stuck every now and then, she couldn't take Math's exams because of it. So, I didn't want to waste my time and I started Core Maths, that's quite nice..How do you find that Hugh Neil book?

The book is fine, in some cases it gets too complicated and takes a lot of time and effort to understand the book, but i think the book which you are using might not cover all the concepts stated in the syllabus copy because it states "Core Maths", just compare it with your syllabus copy and see if it covers all the concepts well, if so then your book is better, if you find it better to understand :)
