Hay thank you, but its still not clear.

Q5 Same Paper

The only difference is that it has H in B, while Cl in C.
And no other difference, so H-H will balance in B, Cl-Cl will balance each other in C. In both there is O on the other side.

I'm not getting the difference. Is H more electronegative than Cl?

look the Cl dont have to cancel each other. they have to cancel the element on the other side i.e. O
Cl and O have a lesser electronegative diff while H and O have a greater electronegativity diff.

the Cl being on one side of the molecule dont cance each other. they have to cancel O
