Aameen..
Is it ok to say: Allahumma innaka 'Afuwun Kareemun Tuhibbul-'Afuwa fa'Awfu 'Anna?
^ This is what the Imam at a Masjid nearby says..

There's a difference in 'anna which means us...and 'anni which means me..

Wa alaykumussalam wa rahmatulahi wa barakatuhu..yes, but my question is that "Kareem" part...in the video, the authentic narration doesn't have it..

AOA.... Idk but if youve seen the Haram taraweeh, even they say this... But we never know!
In support of saying it: We are encouraged to use Allah names and attributes whilst supplicating! And this is exactly what is being done here...Plus if Imams of Haram say it then... because whatever they do is approved by scholars etc...

Also there is no element of Shirk or plain Bidaah except for the addition...
But against: The Prophet has worded out the dua and it is best if we stick to it!

To conclude Ive had this debate several times with my sirs. Theyre always like you guys should stick to reciting Quranic and Sunnah duas. And one cannot give the excuse of Haram Imams doing it. They even do the Khatmul Quran not validated from the Quran nor Sunnah. And Sheikh Shuraim is also of this opinion that is why he has never lead the Khatmul Quran (Contd..)
