ugh! we had huge server upgrades so coz of that we're having glitches here n there n we are trying to fix em....
in the mean time try clearing ur browser cache http://support.google.com/mail/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=32050
that might help.. or try checking that box 'keep me signed in' so it remains signed in and then 'log out' on exit.
