^^ yeah true needs to be spread... Start from kids, yesterday I managed to gather 4-5 cousins of mine(all were like from 5-9 yrs of age) I said to them chalo lets talk abt fashion... So I asked em wats fashion they kept on counting me diff things then I was like tum sab ko Asal fashion ka pata hi Nahi, then I was telling em u kno wats the Muslim's fashion? It's what the all the prophets n Sahaba did...

like beard n folding ur trouser above ur ankles n so on... The proud to be Muslim fashion

Once, we had some discussion abt clothing n u know...it's true...we'd put in the young minds...very early...like parents should avoid dressing children like girls wearing sleeveless dresses etc...

^ yes, exactly... the trouble is tv... superman, batman, spiderman and all othe 'super'heroes a child aspires to are clean-shaved.. even then they grow to see movies and ppl are like that.. so they think this is cool... sad thing is they don't realize our superheroes are the ambiya of Allah S.W.T...
n getting kids away from cartoons is hard.. I struggle with them at it.. :/

Haha yeah I hav seriously banned cartoons it rusts their brains...n da same cousin of mine, wen ever he comes 2 our house da only thing he wanna do is get da laptop n watch cartoon, n jab se I hav banned he like goes to my mother requests her to allow him n she allows n I m like ammi Wat r u doing? But u have 2 provide an alternative then instead I hav 2 play wid him outside

Or I have seen kids have interest in stories of he prophets, like my youngest sis MashaAllah she has so much interest in seerah, she listens very carefully in the seerah class n then ghar Aa keh she is like tell what happened after it... N we get tired of telling n sum tyms we have to think ab which story is left, she doesn't get tired

or there is a islamic website 4 kids kids land it's gud has stories n fun stuff like games quizzes puzzles, all related to Islam really nice do try getting kids busy in that...
Ok once u ban cartoon u have to think 4 alternate ways...

worst effect tv n violent video games can have on children_ today a 5-7 yr old boy in my skol van had a fight with sum older boys, n he was like bring me a knife, mujhe us ka khoon karna hai!!!! can u believe it?!! n he was insiting, crying n shouting in the van purey rastey :-/

oh! that is so sad... really.. we seriously need to provide alternate entertainment to kids... maybe by stories of Prophets and those in ahadith etc...
or by writing something as attractive as harry potter for them.. and related to islam.. so they learn..
may Allah guide us to do something amazing for the kids.. Aameen.
