Hussain Ali I do remember reading this in an article. However, their are several talks related to this matter which contradict each other. If you can provide me with a Hadith or Ayat, it would be a lot easier to agree with you.

Ibn Taymiyyah was asked, “My mother wants me to divorce my wife,” to which he replied, “That’s not permissible. Be better and kinder to your mother instead. Divorcing your wife isn’t part of respect and kindness to your mother! Wallahu a‘lam.”
