Re: Physics exam 31 came from heeeeeel!!!!! What is wrong CI dont worry guys, its all gonna turn out well...hard paper = low curve/boundaries, and if you knew all the formulas you have half marks almost guaranteed from just the calculations ;-) wishing you the best

Question for those who did chemistry 61 !!

sorry to say but you guys are hopeless...the answer was literally in the question itself...hydrogen peroxide was the substance in the flask, and as you hopefully know H2O2 is a COLOURLESS liquid...which turned PINK after the titration. now please stop arguing for any other answers since...

Because most of organic chemistry is core...read the syllabus and don't just write stupid, unqualified assertions.

Question for those who did chemistry 61 !!

Nope, sorry bro...colourless to pink. It asked for the colour change IN THE FLASK...since hydrogen peroxide was the substance IN THE FLASK, and it is colourless, it is from colourless to pink.

    chemistry p61 (liquid M)

Flame colours are NOT required in IGCSE Chemistry, check the Y11 syllabus it's not included ;-) Therefore, the yellow flame does not indicate sodium by any means! I answered concentrated alcohol, mainly because of the antiseptic smell and somehow I thought they'd ask for something organic at...

    Chemistry Paper 61 Discussion

No they don't, it just seems like it because Summer 11 is actually YOUR paper, the one YOU are sitting...if you would actually compare every paper of each year, they all have a slightly different format, just like this years exams...alright maybe the ion table was a little short, but other than...

Want bio p31 answers ? (ask here)

It is both active uptake and respiration, as respiration releases the energy needed for active transport to occur. I'm pretty hopeful that that's correct actually :/

    Biology P31 <-----

I wrote that muscular contractions allow the villi to adapt to the type of food in the alimentary canal, so larger surface area and increased rate of absorbtion.

    Biology P31 <-----

right there. To explain active transport for 2 marks, you HAVE TO write about respiration and obtained energy.

    Biology P31 <-----

No doubt about that, it definitely is absorbtion... Now what is absorption? According to the syllabus, it is the movement of digested food molecules through the wall of the intestine into the blood or lymph (or in this case into the solution) Now if I remember correctly the question asked WHY...

    Chemistry Revision

From the CIE IGCSE Chemistry syllabus for Paper 5: Candidates may be asked to carry out exercises involving: • simple quantitative experiments involving the measurement of volumes • speeds of reaction • measurement of temperature based on a thermometer with 1 °C graduations • problems of an...

    Biology P31 <-----

I don't think that's correct, since glucose is a monosaccharide and can thus not be broken down any further. The living cells provided the energy so that the glucose molecules can cross the membrane against the concentration gradient.

    Biology P31 <-----

I disagree. If it was diffuision, then the Visking's tube would have allowed for diffusion as well, since it's partially permeable. It also said in the question I believe that glucose concentration in the bags were equal to glucose concentration in the solution. I think the clue to the answer...

i'm sorry but there's absolutely no reason to panic about this paper... for those of you who think they're not gonna get an A, the threshold for M/J 10 was 37/80 for an A...THIRTY-SEVEN!!!!!!! and anyone who wants an A* should be prepared enough to be able to answer most of the questions...
