Book Suggestions for IGCSE

Hey guys, Can anyone please suggest me some helpful books to help me ace the chemistry and physics IGCSE? I want my foundation to be really firm :D Oh, and can someone please tell me what are 'notes' for? I'm pretty new to this site and I always see people asking for notes? Thanks loads! :)
