Can you switch between Core and Extended paper...

The title says it all ... I actually wanted to give Core (Paper 2 from chemistry) Its a non beneficial subject for me because I wouldn't need it for Alevels so I wanted to go for the easier option, although I applied for Extended :( Is there anyway I can change from Extended (P3) to Core (P2) ?
