A level Biology and Physics help!

I wanted to take the Physics and Biology A-level. But I'm worried because I've heard people saying that it's quite impossible because I've never taken the O-level for these two subjects. So my question is : Do I have to take the O-level first or can I just go on with it? Please help...:S
