    Biology paper 5 doubts

yeah i noe..bt u jst remember one thing... 'N'ull hypothesis='N'o significnt diff...dats it... then u cn jst find out whether to reject or accept the null hypothesis...

    Biology paper 5 doubts

no ur wrong.... null hypothesis= no significant difference between the means... so significnt diff= reject the null hypothesis

    Biology paper 5 doubts

see..o.o5 is the decider value...if the probability is lower than dis, den we can say dat it is very unlikely dat the null hypothesis is correct..dat is..der IS a significant difference between the means! hope dat helps!

ur welcum! :D ty to u as well..!

    Biology paper 5 doubts

u can take any value 18 or 20... cos dey allow both...but i hav observed dat v use the higher values for many other past pprs...bt u can use any..dats nt an issue i guess...bt m nt very sure! sry.. :)

    Biology paper 5 doubts

the revision guide dat i hav says v dnt hav to memorize them..venevr dey r to b used..dey'll b given in the ppr..

    Biology paper 5 doubts

you can either consider the critical value at 0.05 probability and comment on the null hypothesis...orelz u can consider the critical value closest to the calculated value...and then comment... dat depends on u.. :)

    Biology paper 5 doubts

okay since u've not taken phy...ummm do u noe how to draw the error bars in the graph..?
  12. X

    Biology paper 5 doubts

no as far as i hav read it is always +/-(2*std error) and not just +/-(std error) and yeah...it depends on the data given to u...no generalized concept for it as u asked!
  13. X

    Biology paper 5 doubts

u cant actually qualify it... its lyk..ven u r given 2 different data sets...u got to compare der std deviations..the one wid a greater value of std deviation out of the 2..wil b less reliable..
  14. X

    Biology paper 5 doubts

oh..ohk..i hav posted wt is std error..pls hav a luk.. and yeah for dat questn in 53/o/n/10 we only got to +/- (2*std error) for the error bars
  15. X

    Biology paper 5 doubts

dat question is not related to the data..dey hav asked a general question..so the std deviation shows the spread of data from the mean! :)

    Biology paper 5 doubts

can sum1 pls tel me the reasons for using chi-squared test and for using t-test for different situations? pls asap! :)

    Biology paper 5 doubts

    and btw i was toking abt biology revision guide..not s2! :p i myself havnt taken s2! ;)
  18. X

    Biology paper 5 doubts

ohh..ohk i'l tel u in short.. c error bars are basically sumthing lyk v do in phy..have u taken phy? bt the only difference is that instead of doing +/- uncertainty in phy... for bio we +/- (2*standard error) ...and standard error is given by S/(root of n), where S=standard deviation and n=no...
  19. X

    Biology paper 5 doubts

Hey its not poss to explain d entire thing lyk dat..pls hav a luk at the ppr which i mentioned..53/o/n/10 u'l cm to noe wt were v tokng abt.. N i'l sugest u to go thru sum revision guide if u hav 1..for better undrstnding.. :-):-)

    Biology paper 5 doubts

Hey thnx bt if u see 53/o/n/10 the ms says v got to add and subtract 1 and 2 for the error bars...whereas 1 and 2 are the std errors.. From wt i had studied..v hav to multiply by 2 bt den d ms says sumthng diffrnt..pls check it out n tel me..
