NEED HELP IN PHYSICS P6 MEASUREMENTS!!

HI every one !! i have done lastest past paper may june 2013 p6 but in the very first question part a i measured the lenght which i got lenght H : 9.1cm which is wrong i checked from mark scheme it is 9.7cm... can anyone explain why is this error occuring ??? Question Paper & Mark scheme...
