0500 English Paper 2 (VERY Important)

In the second question, they ask us to write down quotations and explain their meanings. How many quotations should we write down for each part?? (There are two parts in question 2).

Well, it's a 10 mark question. I'd say choose roughly 5 points for each part, you may try to do more, just to be on the safe side.

Also, in the marking schemes, if you can explain and develop even a few quotes correctly, you can get full marks. Don't put quotes in if you're not gonna explain them. Choose the ones you can talk about the most.

Make sure you cut straight to the point.. Dig down into the deeper meaning :)
Your interpretation will also gain you marks.. It's kind of like literature, I don't know if you take it.. But say, if the author uses the color "yellow", it should symbolize something, maybe sickness, or money, depending on the context. "Blue" may represent calmness, tranquility, nature etc.

Like, one of the past papers, the writer says the word "raft" to describe the bed. What does a raft do? It's a safety boat, you climb onto it, protects you from the sea. So, you link that to the bed...
