Some things about climate which have the number 4

4 things affect temperature:

1. Altitude
2. Latitude
3.Continantality (Distance from Sea)
4.Aspect of Land

4 reasons for rainfall

1.Monsoons (July-Sept)
2.Thunderstorms (Oct-Nov & April-June)
3.Western Depression (Dec-March)
4.Tropical Storms/Cyclones (unpredictable)

Notice rainfall is around the year.

4 parameters why Rainfall is unpredictable (This can be put in a question if it is asked about "why canal network is made")

1.In amount (How much?)
2.Location (where?)
3.duration (How long?)
4.Timing (When?)

In a cotton industry,
first process is ginnning.
second is spinning
third is weaving
fourth is stiching and cutting etc

So loom is required in weaving. Power looms are electronic and are more efficient than manual looms

Detail about cotton industry:

1. Ginning: Seprating the seed from the boll. If we seprate seed from boll we get lint and seed (lint is actually boll without the seed.). It is usually done near the farms.

2. Spinning: Lint is than converted into thread by spinwheel. It is either mechanical or manual (the spinwheel)

3. Weaving: Thread is turned into cloth by a loom. It is either mechanical or manual (the loom)

4. It is making into readymade garments. This involve stitching, cutting, etc

Transport:

NetworK: It is connection of routes all together in an area
density: It is the number of connection. (Density could be high medium or low)

Roads have two purposes:
1.Movement of people
2.Movement of freight/goods

Roads are of two types:
1.Metalled/pukka
2.Unmetalled/kacha

Roads require tarmac so are cheap

Advantages of roads
1.Door to door service
2.Can negotiate difficult terrain
3.Very flexible
4.Cheap to make
5.Ecnomical and fast over short distances

Name of different highways should be known.

Disadvantage of roads:
1.Causes pollution and congestion
2.cant carry big bulky goods
3.Maintenance have high costs
4.Accidents can occur

Development that have occured in roads sector:
1. Making motorways
2.Changing Kacha to pakka
3. underpasses, flyovers, bridges, signal free corridors, linear plantation along roads (Urban)

Railways
Advantages:
1. Are direct, they link cities
2.good for bulky and heavy goods
3. They are faster

Dis adv:
1.They are not flexible
2.De railment
3.very expensive

development:
1.there was change from wood to coal and from coal to diesel engine
2.Extension tracks have been made
3.Creation of double tracks
4. Computerisation, online booking

(Just wait will add more)
