Resultant velocity:
Case 1: in rivers and streams
Vb = velocity of boat
Vw= velocity of water current
Vg= ground velocity(resultant)

Rule: Vg=Vb+Vw
^ using vector sum.

Course: Steering direction of the boat
Track: is the resultant direction of the boat

Vb is along the course
Vg is along the track

Time taken= track distance/Vg

Upstream: Against the water current
Downstream: with the water current

This is all I remember now about resultant velocity.

Hope it helps. And good luck!!! :)
