I've completed my O level and would be starting my A-level after the result
well i want to ask that many people say that AS exams are not accepted by most of the foreign universities instead you must give all the subjects in A2 including all the papers, in one go

I want to ask that is it true ?? if not then which country's universities don't consider AS ?

it actually depends on the field u r applying for.if it is medicine then u need complete A2.first u decide what u want to become.then choose the country u want to go.then check the uni website.if they say one sitting then it means u need complete A2.before deciding what to do first check.it's really better in many ways if u give AS and 2 together.Best of luck

Every university requires at least 3 subjects at a levels (which would be complete if n only if you've taken both AS n A2) at undergraduate level. Choose ur subjects according to wat u wanna study at ur college or wat u wanna become........gud luk (y)......

and y universities didn't mention if dey require AS or A2, cos' they don't need either or you can say they jz need both i.e. A level...which i told u above....

No almost no university in the world will ever ask you to give the whole A level in one sitting, the A Level system is supposed to be given in two sitting AS and A2.
Most foreign universities accept 2 AS subjects instead of 1 A Level subject, so if you are going for engineering or any scientific field then I would recommend you to give Maths AS and A2 and then AS for any four subjects. This might be hard to understand but after giving A Level I can assure you giving 2 AS is easier than giving As and A2 both of one single subject. A2 is just too deep and detailed. I have no idea for commerce and business students.

When did i say u gotta take all the A levels in 1 sitting....?????
Ya, bt universities r there who could jz settles down with ASs bt when v talk abt the elite universities like Cambridge or Oxford, havin' A level dat too with A* is jz mandatory......(cos' of cut throat competition).
For a clear idea, i'd like u to go through the university's website and hunt for the entry requirementssss... Of course different uni.s hv different requirements.

For being on a safe side, better take A levels in all the subjects u r having, doesn't matter how many sittings u may take. Also, CIE is so very versatile that it allows you to retake the paper you r not satisfied with.

gud luk (y)...

I dnt knw y r u so cnfusd abt takin' AS or A2. I'd like to tell u dat der's no option like takin' A2 without havin' taken AS. Broadly speaking, der r 3 ways in which CIE A levels cn b taken-
1. take all d papers of A level in 1 sittin' only
2. take a staged route to A level i.e., take AS level subjects in 1 session n den carry it forwrd by takin' A2 within a period of 13 mnths.
3. take only AS level

Bt i 'd suggest u 2 complete ur A levels in all ur subjects in whateva way u'd like to (although takin A level in 2 sittings is convenient). Der r sm subjects in which CIE doesnt provide A level, i mean dey provide only AS level. So check it out for Applied ICT as I dnt hv ne idea abt dis.

As i told u b4, der r uni.s which wud settle wid AS level only bt nt all. As u hvnt decided on ne uni. yet, so u neva knw wat would it require.

In short take A levels, its highly recognised all over d world. It cud b helpful even wen u go professional.

thank you very much
well it was my mistake .. i was all the time supposing A2 as the full A-level without AS ..
now i understood that A2 means the exams after AS ... well I am going for A-level in one sitting because the colleges which I am aiming don't support AS ...
thank you soo very much for clearing all my doubts :)

Colleges or universities don't support AS doesn't mean u gotta take A level in 1 go. Okay, let me exaggerate, taking AS in d 1st session and den taking it forward 2 A2 in d next will give u d same credit or grade as taking A level in 1 sitting. So universities don't give a damn whether u complete ur A level in 1 sitting or 2. And according to experienced student's reviews taking A level in 2 sittings is convenient as it divides A level syllabus into 2 parts (AS n A2,namely).

For e.g., A level phy has got 5 papers. So, if u go 4 it in 1 sitting u gotta take all d 5 papers in 1 go bt if u go 4 it in 2 sittings u gotta take only 3 papers in 1st session, which wud count 4 ur AS level and den u gotta take other 2 papers in d next session which wud count 4 ur A2. Combining d grades of both is ur grade 4 A level.

Choice is all yours.(y)......
