what does it mean when it says that the amplitude modulated wave is transmitted on a long waveband?

I will take a guess........
First of all u should know that AM modulated frequency can be transmitted with in a small bandwidth..This means there is a relatively small variation in the frequency of the modulated wave....so the max. frequency of the Am wave is lower than FM wave(where the max. f canbe 3 time the carrier frequency)......A lower frequency means longer wavelengths...Therefore the waveband falls into Long waveband...
