why sales ledger balance is included w hen full yr sales is given

balance in the sales ledger control account.

(a) Extract the relevant information from above and prepare the sales ledger control
account for the month ended 31 May 2003.
we have to make sales ledger control account, so we can find credit sales, the value given is the balance on the sales ledger, its a differnt thing.

why are we including sales of may and whole year. will sales not be overcasted. is may counted in year or not.. or is it assumed that yr is ending on 3oth april.

the whole question is based on the month of may
